How it works
A chemical solution is applied to remove the outer layers of the skin (epidermis), and in stronger peels, the upper layers of the dermis are targeted as well. The result is an unveiling of the fresh, youthful skin underneath. At DermaCrush, we offer a full range of peels, with varying degrees of penetration and intensity, including lines from SkinMedica, Skinceuticals, and The Perfect Peel. These formulas are designed to improve the texture and tone of skin, as well as improve the appearance of melasma.
What to expect
Recovery time depends on how deeply your peel of choice penetrates. Redness, stinging, or slight swelling is not uncommon, and it is important to use medical grade skincare and sunscreen on the newly-treated area. This new skin which is revealed after the procedure is very sensitive to the sun, so it’s important to protect it, especially during the initial recovery period, so that you can continue to enjoy your new look for as long as possible.

• Discontinue retinol, Retin-A, or Tretinoin products 7 days prior to the peel.
• Make sure skin is not tanned, and avoid false tanning products 7 days prior to the procedure.
• Arrive to your appointment without makeup or jewelry
• The peel solution may need to stay on your skin for 8 hours before being removed with water. Schedule accordingly around social events.
